Student housing on the Saginaw Valley State University campus is growing. SVSU's Board of Control approved over $14 million dollars in new construction Saturday]. The board added two new apartment buildings to a seven-building project already under construction on the Kochville Township campus. The buildings are near the Regional Education Center.
The $2.3 million project will provide housing for 48 students when the buildings are ready for occupancy in August. The second project is a $12 million, traditional residence hall, Living Center Southwest. Construction will begin this summer and it will open in August, 2009. It will be home for 210 students.
With the newest dorm, Fox Drive will connect only to residential parking lots. The current Tower Drive will be extended to Collings Drive providing access from Pierce Road. |
